video4ipod.org lets you upload movie files you have on your computer and alters them so they are compatible with your
Video iPod.
Q: So, wait, it's a like conversion program, but I don't have to download anything?
A: Exactly.
Q: Sweet!
A: Right on.
Q: What file types are supported for conversion?
A: .mpeg, .mpg, mpeg2, .mov, .flv, .avi, .asf, .wmv(some issues may occur with Windows Media 9). We currently do not support .ram and 3gp but that can change, so check back regularly.
Q: How can I play the videos on my computer?
A: You are going to need the latest version of Quick Time, which the lovely people at
Apple would be happy to supply you with.
Q: What if I want to share my videos with my friends?
A: Your converted videos are automatically shared. Go to
the list or search at
the search page.
Q: I have something to hide -- I want my converted videos private!
A: We're working on it...
Q: Why doesn't
video4ipod.org do X-Y-Z?

A: Sure, just upload the movie to our
FTP site. It will be converted normally.
Q: F-T-who now?
A: FTP stands for "video
Foripod.org uploading
Transfer
Protocol". If you use Windows, try
FileZilla, a great FTP program. If you use a Mac, check out
Transmit. If you use Linux and don't know what FTP is, you are utterly hopeless.
